This page describes the recommended settings for the iPad used for Acall applications.

 ATTENTION
・All settings are made in the "Settings" app on the iPad.
Please work on with supported OS for Acall applications.
Please refer to the [List of Supported OS and Versions of the Application] for supported OS.

 

Turn Auto-Lock off

We recommend that you turn off the auto-lock to prevent from stopping the app.

Go to [Settings] > [Display & Brightness] > [Auto-Lock] > [Never].

 

 

Turn Guided Access on

To prevent screen locks and screen switching to other apps, we would recommend you to turn on the "Guided Access" feature, which allows users to restrict iPad operations.

 ATTENTION
Guided Access is not available when using notification settings that require launching other applications such as FaceTime/Cloud Extension.
Please consider using the screen time feature described below as an alternative.

 

Turn on Guided Access

Go to [Accessibility] > [Guided Access].

 

Turn on [Guided Access] and set [Display Auto-Lock] to [Default].

 

Start Guided Access

With the Acall application open, triple-click the Home button.

The passcode setting screen will be displayed.

Tap [Start] for Guided Access.

 NOTE
Once you set the passcode, the passcode setting screen will not be displayed.

 

Cancel Guided Access

Triple-click the Home button.

Enter the passcode.

Tap [Cancel] for finishing Guided Access.

 

Turn Screen Time on

Guided Access is not available when using notification settings that require launching other applications such as FaceTime/Cloud Extension.
Please consider using the screen time feature described for preventing locking screen or switching to other apps.

 

Go to [Screen Time] > [Content & Privacy Restrictions]

 

Turn on [Content & Privacy Restrictions] and open [Allowed Apps].

 

Select allowed apps.

 ATTENTION
In order to use FaceTime call, you must have permission for "Camera" as well as "FaceTime".

 

Turning off the Gestures

If [Guided Access] is turned off, we would recommend you to turn off [Gestures], which can restrict iPad operation, to prevent screen switching from Acall apps.

 ATTENTION
After iPadOS 15, the "Gestures" settings screen is obsolete and cannot be turned off.

 

Go to [Home Screen & Dock] -> [Multitasking].

 

Turn off the [Gestures].

 

 

Turn App Background Updates on

Acall applications guarantees that the latest version of the app only will work.

If you have a large number of iPads in use, we recommend you to turn on automatic app updates.

 

However, since there is a possibility of failure due to unintended app updates, please consider either turning on automatic updates or turning off automatic updates and updating to the latest version manually.

 

Go to [App Store] > [App Updates] and turn on.

 

 

Turn Software Automatic Updates for iPadOS off

The supported OS for Acall Applications are announced in the [News] here.

We would recommend you to update manually after checking the supported OS not background update.

 

Go to [General] > [Software Update].

 

Turn off [Automatic Updates].
